My water treatment system is pictured. The tower on the left "Filter" is low and needs "recharging". Plumber wants to charge an absurd amount. I'm fairly handy, but I can't seem to find what needs to go in there and where to get. Anyone have any expertise they can lend me here? Thanks!

What does it filter out? It could a number of different medias... What size is the tank?

I will say this, I have a backwashing unit similar in size, it has GAC and KDF. I just changed out the media, and it was a real pia. Way to heavy for this old man to be manhandled. Dumping it out .. no, that doesn't work, have to hold it up, while the wife sprays the inside. Next time, I'll build a jig of some kind to hold it. But, it took a good 3-4 hours. I'd charge 4-500 , but then I'm not a plumber. And as far as that goes, next time, I'll justbuy a new tank and throw the loaded one away. It's a good thing it's rated for 7 years or 700,000 gallons.
