Hi. I Have been reading through posts on here for a few days hoping to find an answer but I think I need to specifically ask. I am having very low water pressure (need to measure to give you exact reading but it's basically a dribble out of faucets and you can't do two things at once if you are in shower no one can turn on faucets), really always has been this way since I bought the house about 3 years ago but seems to almost be getting worse. I have checked the tank and it's set at 40/60 and switches on and off fine. I filled the air in the tank to 38psi as it should be. Still no change. If the tank is reading fine and seems to be working fine is the issue in my pipes? I have a filter and it has been recently changed. In reading through the forum it seems I should take the filter out and see if that makes a difference. Other than that what else should I try?

And if the tank is reading the correct psi and switching on and off do I need to be concerned that the issue could be the well pump or is it more likely the issue is occurring somewhere after the tank?

Thanks you so much for any advice!

While you are using water, especially multiple taps at once, if the pump is still cycling on and off from 40 to 60, the pump supplying more water than you are using. In that case the filter or pipe must be restricted.

While you are using water, if the pressure gauge goes below 40 PSI and stays low, then your pump is not producing as much water as you are using.

When I emptied the tank to add air pressure so that it was up to 38psi after turning it back on and it getting up to 60 I ran the shower to see how long it would take to get to 40 and to see if it went back up when it did. It took quite a while to get down to 40 and when it did it kicked on and went right up to 60 fairly quickly. I can't seem to find any problem with the tank. I'm going to try to take the filter out later today and see if that helps.

If the pipes are restricted how do I even find out what is restricting them or how to fix it?

It is just a process of elimination. I think the filter is your problem. The filter should have kept the rest of the plumbing from getting clogged. But if removing the filter cartridge does not solve the problem, start at the closest faucets and work your way to the end to see where the clog is.
