Washing machine discharge hose

Hi,I would like to know is their any better ways to install a discharge hose from washing machine into an abs drain pipe that is hooked up to a laundry tub?Twice we have nearly had an overflow of water because of a cloth or object falling in.I was thinking of puting a 45 degree abs pipe close to the top of the tub but to one side and about 1' above the P trap and placeing discharge hose into this. What are your thoughts on this.Any advice would be greatly received.

If the drain stack serving the laundry tub is 2", you could cut in a separate sanitary tee and p trap underneath the laundry tub drain, add a 24" or longer riser into the p trap, and discharge the washing machine into that.
