Hi,I would like to know is their any better ways to install a discharge hose from washing machine into an abs drain pipe that is hooked up to a laundry tub?Twice we have nearly had an overflow of water because of a cloth or object falling in.I was thinking of puting a 45 degree abs pipe close to the top of the tub but to one side and about 1' above the P trap and placeing discharge hose into this. What are your thoughts on this.Any advice would be greatly received.:)

If the drain stack serving the laundry tub is 2", you could cut in a separate sanitary tee and p trap underneath the laundry tub drain, add a 24" or longer riser into the p trap, and discharge the washing machine into that.
