I have an existing standpipe but I want to move my washing machine about 12ft. away. Can I install a new 2" vertical piece at the new washer location, then run the 2" at 1/4 per ft slope back to the trap, which is vented? Or does the trap and vent have to be located at the washer?

Washer should have a 2" drain with a 2" p-trap.
The maximum length of the trap arm to the vent for 2" is 5' 0"
You can try extending the vent as long as the horizontal part of vent is 6" above the flood rim of the sink.

Mr_David, thanks for the reply. The washer has a 2" drain and a 2" p-trap. The trap is 12" from the vent. What I want to do is leave the trap where it is, cut the existing standpipe down and extend it horizontally and around a corner to another wall about 12'. So the washer drain would go into a 2" vertical piece (standpipe) then 90 to horizontal for 5', then 90 at a corner and go another 7', then tie into the existing trap. Note horizonal runs would have 1/4" slope.
