Vent stack- does it have to go straight through roof

I am roughing in a new master bath in a converted attic.

I have a 3" stack for a bathroom group that includes 2 toilets, a shower, and 2 lavs.

Does this stack have to run continuously vertical from the crawlspace through the roof?

I ask because I want to turn it 45 when I reach the underside of the roof, then run it 5' or so along the roof line, and 45 through to open air. Is this ok?

Yes you can as long as it is 6" above the flood rim of the highest fixture.

I thought that was the case, but there's language in the codebook about having a main stack running continuous through the roof.
