Hello all, first time posting here and I am desperately seeking some advice. My house (built in 2001) is setup like two homes, upstairs and downstairs are two separate living areas. My mom is in terrible physical condition and she lives downstairs so I can help take care of her. Lets start off by saying I am pretty experienced when it comes to plumbing as I have plumbed new homes with my dad when he was a contractor. We always built our homes. This is the first home we ever purchased, which was after my dad passed away so i could take care of my mom. Anyway, the issue is we have 2 utility rooms, each with a washer and dryer (no sinks) that are directly above each other. The problem is when the upstairs washer drains a FULL load is overflows out of the dowstairs washer drain. What stumping me is that this is NEW!! We have been in this house 15 years and it has been doing this for 2. The downstairs washer drains fine! No backup at all. I am very confused. I attached a crappy sketch of what I "think" the plumbing layout is. I have yet to rip out any drywall to confirm, but I am fairly certain this is the layout. Any advice you guys could give would be awesome! I have been wanting to remodel the utility room downstairs (linoleum to ceramic tile, etc) but not when once a week the floor gets flooded. Thank you! Daryle
