I desire two shower heads (opposing ends of 5' tub) with a diverter to the tub...can I just 'Y' off the shower head supply? I would install a separate shut off for this second shower head (make sense?). Is there a fancy mixing valve available? Water pressure is not an issue. I see the MOEN 3320 valve but it does not appear to configure with a tub diverter assembly.

A y would mean that both heads are always on at the same time. A better option is a three way diverter valve which is available from most major faucet manufacturers. most big box stores will need to special order the part in since trim kits are available to match many different units, a specialty place is more likely to keep these in stock.

Thanks...I did say I planned to install a shut off for the second shower head. The 3 way diverter I see don't configure with a tub spout diverter...can you send me a model # for the appropriate three way diverter. Thanks, I can see that this (3 way diverter) is a more elegant solution.

Three way diverters are used in conjunction with a standard tub and shower valve. You standard valve directs either to the tub spout or to the shower head, the diverter is installed in the shower head line and can be used to select which head(s) functions. The diverter is installed above your temperature control, and has a separate handle.

I hope that makes sense...I suck at explaining things by typing.

I am off work for the next few days and don;t have my parts catalogs with me, but any home improvement retailer can get you a parts number, every major faucet manufacturer makes at least one of these diverters.

Are you telling me that i can split the supply to the shower head...one to the head that is always on...and the other to a shut off valve which feeds the second shower head? This is basically what i proposed in my orig ppost.

Many thanks.,
