Toilet Flushing

I am experiencing problems with the flushing of my toilet. Sometimes the toilet will not flush and then I have to use a plunger. Other times it will flush but I will hear a gurgling sound in my shower. When I use the shower, the shower drains normally. Would this indicate that I have a blockage in the toilet line? Is there anything I should try before calling a plumber?

You may have a main line stoppage. The stoppage is at least past the point of were the shower ties into the main line. The line needs to be snaked.
