My toilet flange is in good condition, but it is flush with the subfloor and I am going to be putting down vinyl planks. I can pull the flange to the height of the vinyl planks, but there is a bit of resistance. Is pulling a flange half an inch upwards a problem?

The other two options I thought of were to remove the flange and put a new one in or to get a flange extension kit. Are any of these options recommended?

Closet flanges are supposed to be screwed into solid backing with non corrosive screws like brass or stainless steel.
You can search the question bc it has been answered and discussed ad nauseum.
We typically build up using extension rings with silicone caulk in between after thouroughly cleaning the flange.
Pulling up and adding strain is not advised.
