I have this toilet that a plumber routed the drain line and it still does not fully flush. I have to pressure the line with a five -pound pressure flusher. A toilet plunger will not pressure the toilet enough.
Not sure what you mean, so take a couple of 5 gallon. buckets of water and pour them into the toilet, if the pipe after the toilet is clogged symptoms should show up if the way the toilet flushes, short flush, sticking handle, not filling with water, those are related to the toilet
I had a toilet that wouldn't flush. It was shortly after hosting a summer picnic. Well it would flush water only. Found out with much frustration and time that a piece of plastic silverware had got stuck in the trapway of the toilet preventing proper drainage. I think one of the kids had one too many deserts and didn't want mom or dad to find out.
Hi wirenet29...For what it is worth...I also had a toilet that would not flush with a full force of the water in the tank. Snaked the toilet with the applicable toilet snake. Still did not flush properly or correctly. This is what I did. I poked and cleaned all of the little holes underneath the toilet rim...the little holes that the water enters the toilet from the tank. I also cleaned and scraped out the larger hole at the bottom of the bowl that flushes water to the sewer. Little scaping tools and poking tools are needed. Following that I covered every one of the rim holes with tape and poured vinegar into the tank and left overnight. This helped to further clean other areas I could not reach. Following that, I removed the tape and flushed the toilet and to my surprise, it flushed properly and correctly with force. For what it is worth.
I'm with @51Frazer with this one! Had a similar problem where the toilet would not (fully) flush, snaked it out (toilet and regular snake), cleaned out the holes like @humbolt said and eventually replaced the whole toilet - and the new one worked fine.
As I was disposing of the old unit, I broke it apart and found one of those plastic smell good, bowl hangers stuck in the trap. From what I could ascertain, the toilet snake was just moving the plastic out of the way without dislodging.
