I'm installing one of these valves under the floor for a pedal-operated faucet that doesn't have any of the typical braided stainless faucet supply hoses. Can I successfully attach this valve directly to my piping using 1/2" FNPT brass adapters?

The reason I worry it might not work: the adapters don't have rubber washers inside (like supply lines do), and the male threads on the bypass valve have a notch cut out as in this picture:

The fip adapters will not work because of those cut notches

Will it work to connect a MIP adapter to a FIP faucet supply?

Never used one but I thought it's for a braided faucet connection one end comes from the stop+waste and the faucet end goes were your brass fittings are, watts has a simple video showing you exactly how to hook it up
