Is it legal to make a temporary toilet attached to the sewer clean out for a property while doing a home renovation. I don't want to shell out the money for a portable toilet rental. Thanks

To clarify what I am wanting to do... I was thicken got making a 4 x 4 box with a 3" down pipe into the sewer clean out attach the tank fill to my garden hose and there you have it working toilet.

how will you prevent sewer gasses from escaping were the 3"
enters the 4"
are you gonna run the hose thru the house or the window of the
bathroomand tie it into the toilet ??? It's not legal if there has been any
Permit pulled any inspector would pick up on it if not inspected
it probably would work it will smell/I would not trust a garden
hose if it were me I would shell out the money just my opinion
goo luck

Maybe I am not describing correctly. The temporary toilet set up will be outside and will sit on the clean out that goes to the sewer main not a smaller clean out that goes to sink etc. There will be no gap for sewer gas to escape and the hose will simply be fixed to the tank fill. As far as sink goes hose and bottle of soap just or hand sanitizer. Either way is the consensus that it is illegal hook up such an attachment to the clean out. I can snap some pics to clarify it that would be helpfull
.

still,I understand what yo want to do but if this Job is permitted
that won't fly even if its not some neighbors can be pretty nosey
and may call the inspectors office I belonged to a spots and club
and renting a ports potty was a cuoe hundred a month may
just save a lot of hassle anyway ....... It's just my opinion
hope whatever you do works out
