I bought a 6" x 5' PVC sch40 pipe and a 6" x 4" adapter to reduce one end to 4".

The problem is the pipe and the adapter on the 6" side are the same OD so there is no way to join the two.

This is the reducer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4G6KD7R?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
This is the pipe: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C5P33X4G?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

So, what do I need to get the 6" pipe reduced to 4"?
So, I bought a 6" coupler https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BQSKN2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

And this does not work. All 3 parts have the same OD. If I bought a 1/2" pipe and a 1/2 inch coupler, the coupler's id would fit over the pipe.
That is not the case with these 3 parts, and I don't understand it.

Any suggestions?

You need to buy sch 40 fittings.

Either a sch. 40 coupling to glue your 6x4 bushing into

Or buy a 6” x 4” bell reducer sch 40 if you want one fitting.
