Hello, I am getting a dishwasher delivered here shortly and am just wondering how to modify my plumbing to accommodate. I am renting a newly built house in BC, Canada. I am the first to live in. My landlord says I must hire a plumber to do this job, but I don't want to pay 120$ for a plumber. I don't know anything plumbing, so I am just wondering if I would be able to do this job myself properly. See attached picture, 5/16" PEX pipes coming in, but it is not split up to add a dishwasher. I don't know what that type of flex pipe is called going to the sink. Do I just add a T connector after the shut off valve? What can I use in this case without any plumbing tools?

Also, I can see where I put in the drain to the dishwasher here, do I have to cut the tip of that nipple? I assume something is there to prevent water going through.

I applaud you wanting to do the install yourself, but the landlord instructed you to get a plumber so you can not install the dishwasher yourself. You will violate your lease and will be responsible for any damage that the dishwasher and hook-ups cause - forever. That said, the hook-up looks like it would be very straightforward. Your undersink plumbing would make me very happy if I was hired to do the install!
