I have always sized these according to volume of system, temperature rise, pressure, etc., using a variety of formulas and/or charts depending on what suits the need for tankless hot water systems. After installation, tests show that effectiveness and sizing is spot on. So now I'm sizing a hot water system with a new Leslie Constantemp and a fitter is convinced that my expansion tank is undersized. He won't explain exactly why, I think it's more of an ego issue, but I'm curious what other formulas you guys may have used for accuracy in sizing of this tankless system.
Any input would be appreciated.
