Single Handle Shower hex nut stripped

I’m trying to replace the cartridge on a leaky valve and can’t get the hex nut off. I think it’s stripped. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm looking at it rom an iPod so it's hard to see there are sockets
designed to remove stripped nuts that might work what brand
is it
