Every time I turn on my kitchen sink, it gives off a rapid, machine-gun PRRRRT! shakin sound. I have deduced that it likely comes from air bubbles in the line, that come from the sprayer and sprayer hose in some way. It is a new faucet assembly that was put in a year or two ago (I live in an apt, the maintenance kid put it in). The only way I've found to avoid it is squeeze the sprayer trigger when I turn on the faucet, so that the air in the hose comes out and doesn't make the shaking. So my question is, it's very annoying to have a loud, wall and floor-vibrating shaking every time I turn on my kitchen faucet, so is there an easy way I can fix it myself without having to bug my manager to get maintenance here (which might never happen, as she often forgets minor maintenance things like that that are of little emergency or consequence)?? Like I say, it can take forever for her to get someone to fix it, if she ever does, so I figure it will be more likely to get fixed if I just do it myself.

Any fixes and/or ideas?

It's likely the kind of sprayer with a built in check valve. Take the sprayer off at the hose and see what's there. Post pictures

Not sure if this was exactly the part of it you wanted to see, but here it is anyway. LOL

Nope not it. I was picturing another style faucet.

Do you get the noise if you run the water with the sprayer off like that?

Nope I don't. Which confirms I was right about it being an air bubble in the sprayer hose, which also was confirmed by there being a slight "shoving out" of air out of the hose before the water came out, each time I turned on the water (with the sprayer head removed). That small amount of air is likely what's causing the vibration and shaking, because it's probably trying to come out when I turn the faucet on and is being restricted by lack of a free flow out of the sprayer head. Would probably have to find a way for the air to escape, whenever I turn on the faucet, but, not sure how to do that without leaving the sprayer head off all the time. lol

I doubt it's air since you are likely on city water supply, but then again I'm not in your apartment to see it. The sprayer itself could have a bit of debris or a loose flow restrictor causing vibration, that's pretty common. Only way to 100% know for sure would be to put another sprayer head on and see. Go borrow one of your neighbours and see!

I can't do that, as I've never talked to a single one of my neighbors, and none of them know me even close to well enough to even consider letting me borrow their sprayer head. LOL SO.... I guess i'm stuck dealin with it. I guess I am grateful I at least *have* running water, and hot water also! That's one way to look at it. lol
