On October 20, 2016 I had Rapid Rooter come out to run a plumbers snake from the curb into my lower bath toilet to UN-clog it. After running the snake the water flowed freely. Technician said it was roots clogging the drain.

The next day the toilet clogged again…technician came out a second time; UN-clogged the drain and the water flowed freely. On the 22nd of October, the toilet backed up again (but I had to go out of town for two weeks). When my wife flushed the toilet upstairs, I saw debris (waste) that flowed into the lower bath’s toilet because it had nowhere to go. This has never happened before.

We returned on Nov. 4th and sink water and upstairs toilets flowed into the lower toilet and left mushy brown stuff in the toilet bowl. In addition, running water in the lower bath’s sink produced bubbles in the lower toilet’s water. Flushed the upstairs toilet at 1:00 pm and I saw nothing in the lower bathroom toilet-no liquid or anything. Flushed the upstairs toilet again at 1:15 pm and I only heard bubbles.

On 11/06/2016 - the same Rapid Rooter technician came out to un-clog the toilet. He ran the plumber’s snake into the house. He then had me turn on all cold water faucets to flush out the clogs. I flushed toilets with toilet paper in them-technician seen the paper flow through the drain out front.

On 11/08/2016 - everything was draining fine until my wife started running the washer. At first I noticed that the lower toilet water level had seeped out without flushing the toilet. When the washer water started draining into the wash basin, I watched the water fill up the lower toilet bowl to the brim – then I used the plunger about three times. Five minutes later the water just flushed itself out and down the toilet in one big gush. I also flushed the upstairs toilet and it appeared not to flood the lower toilet bowl.

11-12 to 11-13-2016, Lower toilet has been flushing ok all weekend. At times, I used the plunger just for the sake of using it. No problems with the up-stairs toilet or sinks draining into lower bathroom. No water seepage! It has been 7-days since Rapid Rooter used the snake on the sewer line.

11-15-2016 - this afternoon I used ZEP 10 Minute Drain Opener in the upstairs bathroom sink (it was not stopped up). I heard bubbling noises and then ran the cold water for ten minutes – checked the lower toilet and nothing appeared float down.

I then used ZEP in the bath tub drain; that too was not stopped up – I just felt like it was maintenance. I heard bubbling noises and after 5-7 minutes, I ran the cold water. I then checked the lower bathroom, and noticed that the toilet was filling up with water, and that water, from upstairs, had flowed into the lower bath’s sink. Two hours later I ran water in lower sink and it filled up the lower bath’s toilet, but when I flushed the up-stairs toilet, I saw no effect on the lower toilet.

11-16-2016 - Rapid Rooter guys came out for the fourth and final time to UN-clogged the sewer line. Before running the snake, they had me flush the up-stairs toilet and the water that flowed down into the lower toilet was black; or had black substance in it, so it must have picked this up traveling down the sewer line. They UN-clogged the line, and it has been 11-days since Rapid Rooter came out and everything is working properly.

However, I am preparing this for the next time this happens.
