I'm taking bids to replace a 20 year old Voyager boiler/hot water heater and the two best bids so far would both use a 90000 BTU Rinnai i090cn combi boiler. However, one plumber would install an additional pump for radiant floor circulation and the other would not. The Rinnai comes with it's own pump and the Rinnai installation instructions don't show or mention another pump. This is a single story 2000 sq.ft. house with the boiler location about 5 feet below the radiant manifolds. Presently the radiant floor hot water is circulated with a Taco cartridge circulator 007-F5 which is 1/25 hp. Both plumbers are licensed and have been in the business locally for years. I'll be talking with both of them this week and would love to have some thoughts from the group.
