Replacing springs seats and cartridges Delta faucet

I managed to get out the springs and seats for a Delta faucet. Do the new ones just sit in there; do the seats have to be buried in the recess like the old ones? There seems to be an extra part that goes on the side of the Cold water cartridge. Some of the youtube vids casually mention it without any clear discussion of it.

You have tapered springs that go in first, big end down into the valve first. Then the rubber seats sits it’s recess over the spring. They usually sit proud a tad.

Not sure what cartridge you’re working with. Take pics.
