Hello,
I am trying to replace an old laundry tub faucet that is broken, and I was told unfixable by a plumber. I would guess that it is 40 or 50 years old. I have attached a photo of it to my post. I believe it is what is called a wallmount service sink faucet. With the faucet removed I have two, 1" male threaded connectors sticking out of the laundry tub that I would like to put a new faucet on. I cannot see how these 1" connectors connect to the supply lines without removing the tub which I think would be a big job, so my preference would be to connect the new faucet directly to the 1" connectors. These connectors may have been part of the old faucet, I am not sure. The 1" fittings are 8" apart at center so that looks pretty standard. I can get a Delta teck series 28T9 faucet that looks very similar for a good price online. Otherwise I have discovered that replacements are typically between $300 and $500, which I don't want to spend on an old laundry tub. The literature shows that the 28T9 comes with a 1/2" NPT male connector, though it looks like this connector can be removed back to a female nut connection right at the faucet. See link.

My question is; can I attach the faucet directly to the 1" connectors or do I need to remove the tub and do some plumbing work so that I have a 1/2" female fitting to connect to? I am sorry if I am not using the right terminology as I am not very experienced in describing plumbing issues. If I had the new faucet in hand I could answer this myself, but I have to order it. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
