I'm trying to replace a Kohler 30002 cartridge with the replacement cardridge GP330004....the replacement cartridge doesn't have the top parts on the stem that the original has....the threaded part that threads into the faucet and the nut that tightens it into the faucet - just has a bare stem on the replacement. I was told by Kohler that the old parts can be taken off the original stem and put on the new stem.......how is that done? I am soaking the part in vinegar as suggested by Kohler......but am worried the parts may not be removable.....IMG_0641.JPGIMG_0638.JPGIMG_0632.JPGIMG_0631.JPGIMG_0630.JPGAre the old stems available anywhere that include the nut and threaded area?

Yeah and now they make them in ceramic stem style. No washer to wear out
Got it fixed........there are replacement bonnets, and the original will work for reuse if you can get it off the stem.....so problem over. Was told originally there is no replacement bonnet for my faucet, but turns out there is......part # 1094562 or the original which is part# 20475... can't confirm as I got by with the original, but the tech said either of the above parts should work and are still available...
