Hi, I have a two handle stand up shower. Water drips from the shower head. I first replaced the washers and it had no effect. I replaced both stems and both valve seats and it still leaks. When I replaced the valve seats with brass replacements they would get to a certain point of resistance and then just spin inside the valve, if I tried to use them the leak was outrageous. I have found another pair of PP valve seats that aren't brass, they will fit snugly inside the valve but the leak persists.

Is it time to replace the valve? I don't know what else there is to do at this point. Everything that can be replaced other then the valve has been. I think the threads inside the valves on both sides are stripped.

Sounds like it's replacement time if you are installing the correct parts and the seats will not tighten. Maybe you can retap the seat holes--good luck.

As far as correct parts, when I pulled the stems out one of them was stamped with a PP and the other one had no mfg markings on it at all so I've been going with Price Pfister parts.

It's time for a new faucet than. You have to teflon or pipe dope the threads every time you change them or they will leak everytime.
