Hello,

I am running a new line to my refrigerator for ice / water. I have some 1/4" copper tubing that is refrigeration grade. Can I use that for the run, or should I buy utility grade?

What is the difference between the 2 types?

I wouldn't. Refrigeration copper is much thinner walled. It kinks easier when you handle or bend it, is damaged easier, won't hold as much pressure, and will fail quicker.

Get some Type K or Type L copper.

The refrigeration grade coil I have is .030 nominal wall thickness, which I believe is the same as type L, isn't it?
