What's the difference between Rainbird and 2-inch male-male risers other than the Rainbird costs 3 times as much as the Orbit ($1.60 vs. $0.58)?

FWIW, the orbit products, nozzles & sprinklers, have been junk!

I agree that Rainbird is a high quality product. Their manufacturing plant was in the city I worked for 25 years. I've toured the plant and am impressed with their product. With this being said, on a male to male 2" riser, I don't think you will find much differences in either product.

I agree. I bought a few parts 25 years ago from Orbit and had to replace them 2 years later. (I replaced them with Champion parts.)

Rainbird and Hunter are higher quality than Orbit. Orbit prodcuts are usually lower quality and not as "commercial grade" as Hunter and Rainbird products. This is usually more apparent in the controllers and valves, but I would suspect their plastic simple parts are probably lower quality as well than the plastic simple parts of Rainbird and Hunter. It is not just the marketing costs.
