We hae a home in Mexico. Any plumber from the US or Canada would die if he saw the systems. I have tried as much as posssible to use quality parts and plumb it as iif I were in the USA. I am not a plumber, We have municipal water. The service entrance is just outside the front of the yard. The meter is there as well. I have a shut off just inside our yard. The water lines are mostly under either paving stones or a concrete patio. It is a one story house but we have a crafts room upstairs with outside stairs for access. The roof is concrete . On the roof I have a Tinaco. This is a 1100 litre tank made of some sort of plastic. Very durable. Next to the tank I have a 3/4 HP 220 volt Dab pump with a large Champion pressure tank. The city water feeds the Tinaco and the pump pressurizes the lines to the house. The pump is about 3 years old but we only live here 6 months of the year. lately I hear the pump run when no one is using water. Sometimes it is twice a day. Other times it is days between this occurrence. I check the meter all the time as it has a little wheel that spins when water is flowing. It never moves if the water is not being used. What is causing that pump to run? If I had an undergound leak it would run frequently and the meter dial would spin. There are lots of check valves in the system. Could it be something bypassing in the pump? Thanks
