Just recently purchased a house and the well / bladder tank was replaced ~8 years ago. The bladder is a signature 2000 tank and it constantly turns the well pump on. Its so bad that it sometimes will kick on after just flushing a toilet, and runs about 4-6 times while taking a shower. I just purchased a new water works 86 gallon pressure tank to replace it but before ripping out the old one i noticed the pressure switch turns on at 45psi and kicks off at 50psi. Isn't it supposed to be a 20psi difference and turn on around 30?? So my question is do i need to adjust the pressure switch or is the bladder tank bad? Thanks!!

The signature 2000 is a Sta-Rite tank and has always had a weak bladder. The tank you are replacing it with is probably less quality than the one you have. Why don't you buy a good bladder tank and quit stressing your pump before you have to replace it too? Good brands are the one I sell "Zilmet Tanks". The other two are Flexcon (under several model names) and Well X Trol (not the one the big box stores sell). Yes there is a large difference in bladder tanks.
