Hi, I have an older gas hot water tank and it’s been leaking at the plastic trim piece around the relief valve. I replaced the valve and the amount of leaking seems to have lessened. Any ideas??

You could try tightening the valve another turn, but most likely the tank is leaking and you need a new one.

How flexible are these things? I don’t want to risk cracking it catastrophic failure kind of thing LOL . I’ve got a few wraps of Teflon and pipe dope it was snug for like 3/4 turn. Might make it one more time around...

Your tanks leaking. That’s just where it can easily come out because it’s packed with spray foam
