I just accepted a piece rate job and was wondering if there are any plumbers out there with experience with it. Im doing a small 3-plex with an additional double sizsd unit in the rear. Ill describe the 3-plex. They are about 15 ft wide, 100 foot long and four stories, you know the type. It has a small crawler. 1st floor has kitchen sink and a lav in a 1/4 bath. 2nd flor has the auto washer and a full bath, single lav. 3rd floor has the master with jack and jill sinks. Top floor has the water heater. Also, im in Seattle. Should I bid $200 per fixture or how should i do this? 10 fixtures all together. He offered $2000 per unit after a passed inspection. What do you guys think?

First, it depends on how fast you are, and how much money you want to make. Do you think you could be comfortable with that work for that money?

Second, assuming you are a licensed plumber, don't forget to file a mechanic's lien on the house if their is any issue in getting paid...

$2000.00 per unit, are you supplying material or just labor

what you need to do. is sit down with some paper and the print
map out your plumbing route
draw up an iso. count the fittings, figure the pipe footage
then shop the material
see exactly what you are stepping into.
in other words, do a take off and price your material

a hose bib is a fixture
a ice maker is a fixture
a ac condensate drain is a fixture
a kitchen sink is 3 fixtures sink, disposal, washer
