I'm about ready to take on replacing my frost free hydrant outdoors. However, after digging up the line, I do not have a separate shut off to it. I would like to add one to it. Is it necessary to have a separate shut off on it? Also, it appears to be pvc from the supply coming into it, and I'm not sure what type of fitting/adapter is on it to where the hydrant connects.
I guess my question is: Can I put a shut off on this line, and how should I do it? Should I try and put one on the pvc supply, or run a separate pipe with shut off after the fitting?
Thanks
