Old Sta-Rite MSE4. Pump locked up? No water, I immediately shut off power to it. Thought at first it lost prime. Took the pressure gauge off and the regulator is full of water. Powered it back up and it sounded to me like the motor was humming, but the pump wasn't spinning. Ran back in and cut the power off again. Went back out and smelled that dreaded electrical stink. I have no idea how deep this well is. Would a Zoeller 1-HP 115 and 230-Volt 16-GPM Cast Iron Deep Well Jet Pump be a good replacement? School me please. BTW, it wasn’t due to temperature.
