I had a major leak and had to replace some 1" PVC. Just got done using oatey all purpose to put a ball valve in place. My wife wants a shower and I told her she has to wait two hours. It is in the basement and is heated area. What is the minimum time I should wait before turning on the main?

the instructions on the can are the best reference, if you follow all the required instructions and practices like champfering the o.d. and use proper primer.
PVC is not allowed inside buildings (bc is is not durable) for water supply.

Is that only for hot water ? What about cpvc ? Because of the pipe or the joints ?

Couple hours if the temp is above 60 degrees.
