This is kind of a long story so I will try and keep it short I apologize in advance for any details I may forget to add:
I started in July of 2021, I got a Pentair PCP 30 SXT 5800 Valve 30,000 Grain Capacity Twin and installed it in a new Water Shed that I had built on my property to replace the old small one, I am on well water and have a Rainsense filter previous to the Water Softener which is removing a very small amount of Iron from my water.
The softener ran great for quite a while, it seemed to be performing properly from what I could see and I had software which was great. Around Christmas time I was putting pots of water on the woodstove to create some humidity and I noticed that there was severe scale buildup on the pot after each pot of water. I went and had the water checked and sure enough, it was not Soft anymore.
I troubleshot for a few weeks with the Customer Service at Pentair and they were extremely helpful in working with me to try everything we could possibly do but unfortunately we could not fix the problem.
The company I bought it from replaced it in late January with a completely new System and I returned the old head. I installed the new system and once again had Soft Water. I received a report back that the Brine Draw was not working properly on the old head and that the Tech who fixed it "Moved Injection to Bottom Hole".
Fast forward to the week of July 29th and the Softener does a Regeneration, I have started testing after each regeneration with some Pool test Strips that easily show whether the water is Hard or Soft. This time all of a sudden no Soft Water again.
I go in and check the Brine tank and there is a good amount of Salt, no blockages or Salt bridges. but I notice the Brine Tank is very full of water. I take out quite a but until I can just see the water. I run another regen and monitor the water level this time and it never goes down, the system goes through the process and once again starts Brine Fill to which it keeps adding water to the brine tank and once again has too much water in it.
I did this a couple more times just to make sure while also making sure the Brine Hose was not blocked in any way and that water could easily be brought into the Head.
I was lucky enough to have been given the old head back and so eventually I swapped that in for the second not working one and once again have software.
What could possibly be going on here that 2 Softener heads would have what seems to be the exact same issue?
My water pressure and setup all appear to be right within spec and I am out of things to try!
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. and I am more than willing to give more details that are needed.
Thanks in Advance!
