We have a kitchen faucet (Moen..can't remember the model, but one of the ~$60 Lowes ones) that's about a year old. It will drip sometimes 1-2 times a second, but what I find odd is that it only does this occasionally...maybe once every other week or so. When it does, I can open one of the faucets all the way for a second, turn it back off, then it stops. Is that strange? usually when I have a bad faucet, it leaks constantly until it's fixed...never had one just leak infrequently. Think maybe the water pressure spikes sometimes?

That is pretty odd, typically a leak won't stop until you stop it. When shutting the water off, you are shutting it off at the valve. There will still be residual water within the spout after the valve and at the aerator. The air pressure in your home isn't constant, and this change in pressure could be enough to cause that residual water to come out of the spout/aerator. Could also be pressure changes within your water supplies which happens whenever you flush toilet, turn on other faucets, washer/dryer/etc.

Call Moen and they should help you identify your faucet and get you replacement parts sent out under their lifetime warranty.

Once you get the parts, then dig in and find out if there's anything weird going on within the faucet :D
