Noritz tankless heater thermal fuse not working error code number 14

I have received error code 14 from a Noritz heater that is no longer manufactured. The thermal fuse which I need is no longer carried.
I was wondering if anybody knows of a workaround /shortcut for this part or where I may be able to find one new or used.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jeff
Noritz model N – 084M – DV ——- part number for thermal fuse SBA7398

Did you call nortiz and ask if there is another thermal fuse that could be used for your unit. There may be a cross over
but I'm not sure. Anybody in your town that sells nortiz? I read that when you get a code 14 that you should blow out
the heat exchanger and do a descaling as the exchanger gets over heated and blows the fuse.

Just fir fun I’d find out the ohm value of the thermal fuse and match a resistor up to the same value to fool the computer. 🤡

Jus for fun 🤣. I’m not telling you to do that.

Hey, thanks for getting back to me. It’s been a couple days and I thought maybe nobody would so I really appreciate it. I did blow out the heat exchanger to no avail, I also did a descaling yesterday. That also made no difference. I have sent an email to Noritz asking for a list of supply houses that use their product and I was going to begin calling them one at a time to see if any of them had this part that has been discontinued. I have not heard back from Noritz yet so I will call them today. The last time I spoke they told me that there is no interchangeable thermal fuse. They suggested the descaling and calling Noritz suppliers to see if somebody had one of these hanging around. After I did the descaling The remote controller immediately went to error code 14 again.

I would absolutely love to do that! However, that is far above my pay grade unless you can provide me a little more detailed information. I understand the concept and I would like to think it would work and still leave you with an underlying problem you need to fix, but certainly worth a try.

PS: just did a quick Google search on Noritz supply houses and many came up I guess I will start there.

I’d just replace the heater. After a while the manufacture just quits supporting it.

If you want to DIY and spend a lot of time and money snd the heater still not operate.

What you need to do is test the thermal fuse you have and make sure it’s actually defective. The brain board may be bad and that’s showing up as error 14.

If you knew the ohm value of the thermal fuse circuit you could install a resistor to match and make sure the computer clears the error but you would still need to verify the unit is not overheating causing the thermal fuse to blow, if it’s a legit thermal fuse error14

So the error codes lead you to several possibilities and once those are eliminated and you still get the error14 then it’s a bad brain board. That’s the first part some manufactures quits making.
