Apologies if this is too detailed—it’s my first post, and I want to provide as much information as possible.

We had a leak in our utility sink, so I decided to replace it and install a washer outlet box since our washer previously drained into the sink. I did a lot of research, read plumbing posts, and reviewed the plumbing code (though I didn’t follow it 100%).

After running the washer for the first time yesterday (before starting the drywall), I noticed the drain isn’t working properly. Water eventually overflows from the washer box when the washer drains.

When I cut the old iron pipe from the sink, there was buildup inside. I’m not sure if the issue is due to my plumbing work or the buildup in the pipe. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think the issue is my old drain not the new setup. I capped everything except the washer drain and used cleaning bladder in the washer drain. While the water was on and the bladder inflated, the water was slowly draining but as soon as I closed the hose, the water came out of the washer drain.
