Hello, we just installed a new hot water tank yesterday.

Everything was working fine yesterday, we filled it up and bled out the faucets before turning on the electricity, it heated up in an hour and everything seemed great. Took a shower, it was fine. It was also working fine this morning when my husband took his shower. Used the sinks, etc, without issue.

When we went to use the water tonight after returning from work, it was not as hot as it should be, so didn't seem to be heating. Nothing was tripped on the circuit breaker. Shut off power. We checked the E.C.O. button, and it was not tripped (it is a Giant brand water tank, and from what I understand if it were tripped the button would be popped out). Pushed it anyways, in case. Checked both thermostats and they were at the factory default of 140 (which I did find pretty hot, and will probably change if we can get it working). Turned power back on, waited, no hot water.

I'll mention that we had to have it delivered by the store to have a warranty so they could make sure that the tank was always standing, because it becomes voided if the tank is laid on its side for any reason.

So, is this a faulty water heater or are there other things to troubleshoot? And I assume all stores would have their own policies, but does anyone know "in general" what to expect? Does one usually just return the water heater or do they send someone over first? I'll call them tomorrow, but for now I am probably not sleeping much, lol.

Thanks for your time and any information.
