Im need to this forum , and I m hoping you guys can give me some advice.
Last week I hired a company to do my basement , they have done a really good job so far, however I've noticed yesterday that the electrician cut off the electricity down stairs and the guys left sump pump plugged in without thinking there was not electricity. I came this morning and I found the water from the sump pump went outside the sump pump barrel ( to the sides) , however the water did not go over my floor , there is about 10 or so inches between the top of the barrel and the concrete floor.
I ran a cord and got the pump started again , however the water that went outside the barrel to the side is stuck there. I 've been dumping that water by bending the plastic barrel for an hour but the water is still stuck around the sump pump barrel. It has not rain that much but I m not sure how much water actually went outside of that barrel
The concrete floor is around 10 inches I would say ( maybe less) and it is not wet except for the first inch or two around the barrel, the rest is completely dry
I have already called the guys doing the basement , and they apologized and told me they are going to send someone on monday.
Here is my question , the floor is not wet, the walls are dry , but there is still water stuck outside the barrel. Could this water do some damage to my foundation , or flooring??. The guys are telling me that as long as the pump is working it should be fine and as long as there was not water on my flooring it will eventually dry out.
Please advice, thank you
