Hi I have a merrill pitless adapter and I'm looking for some installation help. I noticed this adapter does not have a slot like most of them. My question is how do I line it up with the outlet hole on the casing? It can be rotated which would block some of the hole if installed incorrectly. Should I have marked it? The best to replace this style which would be a pretty big hassle for me? Way I see it is if it's installed incorrectly it could block half the hole or even 3/4 or the entire hole. Help would be appreciated as I'm in the middle of this job. Thank you for any response. I will attach a picture of the adapter.Screenshot_20221107-161044.png

That's basically a saddle tee what are you using it for the are illegal in mass
It is what is in my well when I pulled the pump out. I live Michigan and it is my main house well pump. I used a long 1/2 pipe slotted at the end to turn the slotted screw that was down the well pipe to release it and pull the pump out.

There are better suited well people here I didn't know it was for that use

I don't think it will block the outlet because if the o-ring is not in its seat it just won't seal. You should be able to see which way the outlet pipe is pointed.

It could be positioned anywhere inside the well pipe. I guess I would just have to look down there and try to see where the hole is which is not going to be easy. The o ring presses against the side of the well casing to seal and it can be positioned 360° in the pipe. I can't believe a pitless adapter would be a designed this way. I would have marked it I guess if I knew.

Wow. Then it is just like a "hot tap". I don't see how anyone could find the exact right place to position the o-ring. But if it just covers part of the hole it will leak like crazy.
