Hello,
So I have a double wide. Each sink, tub, etc. has its own vent pipe (I believe that is what they are called, the pipe allowing air into the drainage system). In my master bathroom we have a garden tub that we have not used in 20 years. I am going to remove it. The issue is this. The vent pipe is protruding through the floor. Photo below. Now someone told me all I have to do is cut this pipe below the floor and cap it off, same for the p-trap, before it enters the drainage pipe. WIll this work? 3 feet away from the tub is a double sink vanity that has its own vent pipe. Revoving the tub and capping the pipe wil not effect the other things correct (sink, toilet, shower..which has its own pipe.)
If this will work, any recommendations on the best "cap" to get?
My goal after this is to fix the subfloor where the tubs drainage and water supply was, and reclaim the space with a new floor.
