Hi there,

Moved into a house recently where the bathroom was fitted last year by the owner, who wasn’t a professional.

After having a bath, from the second you pull the plug and hot water starts to drain, there is a loud and constant clicking noise (every few seconds for first few minutes, then every few minutes for the next 30mins or so, then less frequent for a few hours). We took the panel off to have a look but couldn’t see anything obvious.

This happens while the hot water runs in the sink too, but never with cold water.
See the following video while the hot tap in the sink was running:

It’s a lot louder and more frequent when the bath runs out. Does anyone know what this could be? Am going to put some drain cleaner down in case there is some sort of blockage.

Thanks

We call it an ABS tick. Typical when plastic drain pipe is strapped tight to wood.
As it expands it rubs on the wood. I have had to cut open walls to relieve the tension because the noise was so load and disturbing.
