Hi All,
A while back my shower would start out hot and then gradually go cold. My water heater was about 15 years old so I got a new one! This did not correct the problem. The plumber checked the water heater out and then installed a new cartridge in the shower. This did not correct the problem. Called Rheem to ask what they thought. They said I probably had a cross over problem & to get a more experienced plumber. The new plumber ran the shower cold in 13 minutes. He said the pipes from the water heater were both cold so I needed the water heater fixed. I explained to him that the exact same problem had started with the old water heater. He just keep saying it was the water heater and left. I called Rheem again. Now they said it could be an electrical problem and to buy a voltage tester. Now the warranty on the water heater is over but I don't think it is the problem. Before I go on another goose chase can anyone think of why this is happening? Any input will be appreciated!
