I was attempting to replace a shower arm, but this piece is stuck and damaged now. I can't find an example online that looks similar. Any advice on how to remove it or have I done too much damage already? If I am able remove it, will a standard shower arm screw in or does this system need some sort of adapter?

Try a. Set of easy outs or a chisel that will tap inside snugly maybe even a basin wrench then use an adjustable wrench on the flat sides for better leverage

I did try a nipple extractor, but couldn't get it to more at all.

Put some blue painters tape on the tile so you don't mess them up. Try a pair of vise grips at a 45 degree angle. You will get there. what is on the other side of the wall? And are your pipes pex or ??

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I ended up using a plumber since I couldn't get enough leverage with the tools I own. It even took them a while but they eventually got it.
