Good morning, I have an LG French door refrigerator that is about 8 years old, all the sudden it stopped cooling, both, freezer and refrigerator. Compressor seems to be running, fan on the back of the unit is working, as well the fans in the freezer and refrigerator compartment working too.. no ice at all accumulated anywhere. When I run the test mode, everything works, too, last thing I did was to run the smart diagnosis with the LG app.. after the diagnosis is complete, it shows that everything is working well... fans, condensator, temperature, etc. Does it look like the compressor ran out of freon??
Has any one gone through this issue that can throw some ideas? Thank you!!

They don't run out of freon since it is a sealed system. If you had a freon leak, that would explain it. When is the last time you cleaned under and behind the fridge? Air flow and clean, not obstructed fanblades are paramount in keeping a fridge running at an optimum pace.

This is obvious, but have you tried unplugging it for a half hour?
This will reset the computer or circuit boards and might get it running again.

Thank you havasu and jeff handy. I did cleaned and also unplugged it for about and our and plugged back on.. it didn't make any difference.
Thank you again!

I would call LG customer service for advice.
Maybe there is a reset procedure they can show you.
The model number of your fridge is probably on a sticker inside the fridge on a side wall.

Or there might be a fuse that can be replaced on a circuit board somewhere.

But unless you are really handy at electronics, it is probably beyond your skills to attempt that.

Meanwhile, it sounds like it is time to call an appliance repair company.

Thank you Jeff!! I'm a certified electrician and have some experience on circuit boards too.. I think I mentioned that I can feel the compressor running... thank you for the advise!!

Other posters have had an issue where the defrost timer gets stuck, maybe you could ask LG about that.

None of this is plumbing! nevertheless:
Definitely, he has a leak of refrigerant.
I don't believe finding a leak on an older fridge will be worth the effort.
I'd love to hear if anyone has had a leak detected and fixed on a fridge.
