I have a leaky hose bib that I've been trying to fix. It constantly drips when the water supply from the inside of the house is on.
The spigot is an arrowhead. Here are pictures of the outside spigot and the inside pipe. The dripping does stop if I close the valve on the inside of the house (picture #2).
I've already tried replacing the valve stem which came with a new washer so I don't believe it's simply a washer problem. I did have to file down the edges of the end of the stem to get it to fit, which a lot of reviewers on Amazon mentioned they had to do with older plumbing systems. Basically that square at the end of the stem was too large to fit inside the pipe, so I filed it down bit by bit with a dremel.
Any idea what my next steps would be? I'm assuming it would be changing the valve seat, but would that involve cutting pipe? Thanks a lot.
