I am trying to replace the flush valve gasket on a Kohler Veil Wall mount toilet. I have removed the cover as well at the actuators. I am unable to remove the plastic assembly k-1045103 called the takeup , mechanical.

Since it is plastic I do not wish to force it. I have not found any information online on how to accomplish that. Below this link to the Kohler website showing the part.

Take a good clear picture of the inside of your toilet tank. Might be easier to help you.

The tank is actually behind the drywall so there is no way to get a picture, until I am able to remove the valve assembly.

Still, a pic of what you see in the front, from a few angles.
The much better Toto and even better Geberit use a near identical methodology once the face plate is off.
Quarter turn plastic rods are rotated, then come out, which frees up the top half of the guide rig.
Then tricks to pull the flush valve...either pinch at a magic hidden spot or perhaps quarter turn of the assembly.
They should outlaw the two by four frame assemblies.
