I'm a little new to all this home repair stuff. I have a faulty kitchen sprayer. Hose looks good but I have a new hose just in case I can't get the sprayer off. The questions I have:

1) Are sprayers sometimes permanently attached to the hose? Can that be verified by the attached pic. If not, I assume that I should be able to find a clip in there to remove that will free the sprayer.

2) If I have to replace the hose, how would I? The clear sprayer hose connects to a black piece under the sink, then to a yellow hose which goes up inside a gold cover. I've never seen the black item that the hose is hanging from in the pic. Do I replace the hose from the black item or do I follow the hose further until I get inside the gold cover? The new sprayer hose I have is a threaded one.

Sometimes, I find the answer by going to the big box store and looking for the replacement part. Open it up and see how it connects.

I'm only guessing here, but the disconnect for this one is at the black piece, and a replacement would just connect back up at the same point.

I'm fairly certain the black piece is a quick attach connection for the sprayer. They will separate but many are similar to solving a Rubik's Cube. Some push while pulling, some you must push in a tab while pulling apart. I'm sure you have a universal sprayer so that piece connecting them will not be used. I'd recommend trying to locate the exact model and calling the company for an exact duplicate sprayer. Also, many also have a lifetime guarantee, so they just might send you a new sprayer that connects to that quick attach connector.
