Is this Delta 1700 series before or after 2006?

I was told to replace the cartridge because of temperature issues. Before I do that I want to make sure I get the right one. I see there are two cartridges for this faucet. One is for 1700 series made before 2006 and the other is after 2006.

Normally it would be safe to assume the old cartridge already in there is the right one, but I don't want to make any assumptions. Can you tell if this is the old or new version of the Delta Monitor 1700 series (photo below)? If not then is there a simple way to tell? Thank you!

Probably the newer version. You can’t tell by looking at the trim on the outside, new trim could’ve been installed on an old valve.

If you want a definite answer you’ll need to take the trim off and let me see the rough valve in the wall.

I really doubt it’s the cartridge if it works on some shower settings and not others.

It really sounds like some sort of piping error. Maybe not.
