I have the AO Smith at-h3-dv-n. It has been having an error code 111 which apparently is some igniting error. Im not sure what to do now. I opened the circle area on the picture attached and cleaned what I think was the flame rod. Im not sure what else to clean up now. Any suggestions?

Thank you

Did you make sure they are in the original position ? They’re bent a certain way and they must be installed in a certain direction.

I put them back in the way I took out initially I think. I pulled it out straight and just wiped them down with a cleaner solution and put them back in. When I looked into the hole, I did see like white ashy inside. Could that be an issue?

I’d also check the gas supply and inlet gas pressure.

In the future just use a dollar bill or a scotchbrite pad at best. I’ve heard that it’s not good to do clean them too aggressively.

I saw that online but was not sure where to find the Hi-Limit switch. I checked the manual but wasn't sure how to access. And the sound it makes is this whirring sound with two click every 3 seconds twice. Ill double check the gas as well. Do you think this type of job will probably require a plumber?

Yes, A plumber with a digital manometer and a good multimeter.
