After 11 yrs, grandaughter's tub drain is a s-l-o-w go. I thing I can clear it fairly well with a snake at the vent (easy access) but I would like to clear the first part of the run too; i.e., right there at the pop up drain.......but I have never worked with a Moen of this type, I did get the top knob/nut off as shown in the pics, but I don't want to go torquing that shaft there in the center without some knowledge about how it all comes loose. It is set up for a square drive (maybe 1/4 " or 5/16". Those with experience with this type valve............any guidance for this DIYer? Thx in advance, of course.

Hmmm looks like I shrunk the images too much. Maybe a click or 2 on them will enlarge OK?

Flat blade screwdriver and turn ccw.
Thx for the reply. I did, in fact, finally find a youtube video this afternoon that showed the use of a flat blade screwdriver. I had tried that earlier, but nothing moved so it had me worried. I may give the screwdriver a light tap or two before torquing the thing again.

Best, Ed S.
